News about the NISIS Autumn School
We would like to share the latest updates about our upcoming NISIS Autumn School “Islamic(ate) Classics From Manuscript to the Digital Age” which takes place from 8-12 November at Leuven University.
The deadline for registration has been extended to 10 October. Registration is possible via this form or by sending an e-mail with a short abstract (max. 300 words) and bio (max. 50 words) to nisis@uu.nl. When you submit your intention to attend the Autumn School please also indicate whether you’d like to apply for financial support for traveling and/or accommodation.
For those who would rather not travel, we are working on making the Autumn School into a hybrid event to enable online attendance. If you would like to attend the keynote lectures or any of the seminars online, please let us know via e-mail.
Keynote lectures will be given by Beatrice Gründler (Free University Berlin), Brinkley M. Messick (Columbia University), Ahmed El Shamsy (University of Chicago), and Peter Verkinderen (Agha Khan University-ISMC Kitab project).
During the research school, a workshop on “Digital Humanities in Arabic and Islamic Studies” will be given by Emad Mohamed (University of Wolverhampton).
For NISIS junior members, we also offer a one-day writing clinic on Friday 12 November. If interested, please get in touch with the NISIS office.
We hope to see many of you in November!
